There are a few things that needs to be acknowledge. Constantly there are people that debate this theme. I find it very interesting that this at times can be connected at it's root to anti-semitism and bias traditions. There are a few factors that need to be considered on this subject.
1. How much in the bible is promised to Israel and it's people.
2. When God said these things if He has revoked it, wouldn't that make Him a liar or even dare I say, Humane in nature. Would God take back what He said knowing that Israel would be faithful and then unfaithful. The point God was trying to make conveniently is that He is faithful all the time no matter what.
3. There are at least 40 plus authors, 39 were Jewish.
4. Jesus is (NOT was) Jewish.
5. Where is He coming back.....Jerusalem.
6. The promise that were made primarily to Israel, NOT to the church or you as an individual. That would be replacement theology. I'm all for grabbing the Word for application, but let us be careful with interpretation. Let me elaborate, you ever invite someone to be somewhere or to do something? Then a person comes and buts in on the invite and invites themselves to that function or that something. Let's be honest, sometimes depending on the situation, this may even try your patience. Now before the unnecessary jumping of conclusions come, I'm not saying that God is annoyed or saying that I or someone could be easily annoyed. But you have to understand the point being made. Lets say this was suppose to be something that was really between you and the other person, but then that third person" comes butting in. Then you would say that would be rude or intrusive. That's my point!
7. Like number 6, it is safe that Israel and Jerusalem should be interpreted as Israel and the City of Jerusalem. Silly simple point, but one often ignored.
8. Why must support Israel, like anything else, Israel is center of global and biblical current events. If you disagreement, then you are in denial to the fact that is the foundation. Paul said it, Jesus said it, that's where it started and that's where it's going to end.
9. Whether you like or not, it is biblical mandate along with the caring for widows, the poor, the need of healing and miracles, and making disciples and all nations. See Psalms 122:6, Isaiah 62, Amos 9:11-15, Romans 11 and these are for a foundational start for now.
10. If you looked a the last 65 years, when something happen in Israel, somethings took place in the Church. You will find a stunning parallelism there to hard to ignore.
11. What I'am not saying, this is not about Judaizing the Church, but this is about recognizing biblical roots.
