The bible says in James 5:16, “confess your sins to one
another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous
man avails much.”
Some time ago I recently did this to bring a new level of
liberty into my life. I have to tell you after several weeks in seeking the
Lord about this area in my life. I was determined to be free and stay free. I even
did some “prep work” in order to do this. I was watching how God was bringing
cleansing to my life progressively. You never know that your act of courage may
lead to others wanting to accomplish the same. It’s not just about you, but
others too. Really….it’s about the work of the Lord in our lives. Some of us
are saying, “I’m trying”. STOP TRYING…..AND DO! Today is the day the Lord has
made. You want to be free. What are you willing to do? You’ve asked for prayer,
you’ve asked for council, you’ve asked for individual accountability. I have to
tell you, I didn’t go before a company of strangers like in a normal church congregation.
Instead I went before a family like, with close friends, a company of ministers
kind of congregation, which took a lot of courage. I know this because I have
done this and it took several weeks to finally muster up some courage to
confess. Enough is enough; it has gone too far for too long. I said I want to
be a righteous man especially when no one is looking. Yes Jesus is forgiving.
Yes He lives inside of me and I’ am the righteousness of God because of Cross.
But I needed to make a choice that will change everything. I had no problem
making it. It was beginning this walk. Will people judge me, will people say
stuff. In reality, they may or may not. Guess what, you don’t stand before them
but before God. People who love you will cheer you on and cover you. Most and
importantly, so will God because surely love covers a multitude of sins
especially His. He died for us in the name of Love. Don’t you think He will
deal with those who mean harm or cause it by rolling their eyes in judgment? He
will deal with the likes of those on HIS terms, not yours.
I’m not saying this is for everyone. But I promise if you
nail yourself to the cross, you will rise to life. Life more abundantly is what
Jesus pronounced. Yes the cross may be heavy to bear. Jesus the Son of the
Living God had help carrying the cross, what makes you think you won’t need
help either? You are never alone! I remember crying, no one asked me to do
this, there was no alter call. It wasn’t even the messages that was spoken, or
even the anointing in someone else’s life. It was the burning like fire in my
bones that led me to finally say “OK”. It was the leading the Holy Spirit. I
knew what this would bring. What am I saying? I’m saying do what it takes to be
healed. If God say’s publically repent for something that you do secretly, He
will FREE you. Trust me, this will convict and inspire others. As for those who
harden their hearts, let God deal with that. You be responsible for you. He
loves us, He will choose and put in people’s heart to walk with you, love you,
trust you, care for you, keep you accountable, and not judge you. Leave that in
God’s hands, you worry about obeying and trusting Him. I promise if you are vulnerable
and confess your sin/s, not just to God or individual friends, but to the many
that will help you in the process. Could you imagine saying something that
people never expected you to say. There is no way you will not be free. I pray
that God will bless you and I hope that this will be an encouragement for you to
go from glory to GLORY.

Thank u so much for sharing! Its so encouring to see a brother step up and draw a line in the sand and take a stand for righteousness in his OWN life despite what others may think or say. We truly live for an audience of one - we live for the judgment of ONE - therefore if we LOVE Him we will OBEY Him. God bless u for courageously pursuing your personaly freedom - God is def honoring your obedience. Blessings!
